Invitation for International Participation in the “IranDokht National Theatre Event 2026”
The Sooreh Performing Arts Center intends to organize the “IranDokht National Theatre Event” in 2026 (1405 in the Iranian calendar) under the central theme “Iran Forever Proud.” (November 22nd to 30th 2026)
This national event has been conceived with particular emphasis on fostering creativity and highlighting the role of women artists in the field of performing arts. Its artistic framework draws upon the rich foundations of Iranian cultural identity, traditional rituals and ethnic folklore, classical and contemporary Persian literature, mythology, as well as women’s narratives within epic traditions and themes of resilience.
In order to further strengthen international cultural exchange and enhance artistic dialogue among nations, the Sooreh Performing Arts Center intends to establish an International Guest Section alongside the main program of the event with the participation of distinguished foreign artists and theatre groups.
For this purpose, two formats have been defined for international participation:
- International Guest Performance
Presentation of a women-centered theatre production or performance work in the fields of physical theatre, performance art, or movement-based performance.
Maximum number of invited artists: 1–3 individuals.
- International Collaborative Performance
A co-produced or jointly performed project developed in collaboration between a foreign artist or ensemble and Iranian artists, focusing on cultural themes, ritual elements, and women-centered narratives within the performing arts.
Maximum number of foreign participating artists: 1–3 individuals.
Through the universal language of performing arts, this event aspires to provide a meaningful platform for intercultural dialogue and artistic exchange among women artists from Iran and other countries.
If selected for participation, the Sooreh Performing Arts Center, as the organizing body of the event, will be pleased to provide the following support to invited artists:
- Coverage of round-trip international airfare for invited artists
- Accommodation and hospitality throughout their stay in Tehran
- Airport pick up and local transportation services
- Provision of a fully equipped performance venue and technical stage facilities
- Comprehensive executive coordination, protocol arrangements, and logistical support
