A Wound on the Body of History and Culture
.
A report has been prepared by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the damage inflicted upon the country’s cultural heritage and museums as a result of military attacks by the United States and the Israeli regimes.
This report provides a documented account of the damage caused to museums and historical sites across Iran during the joint military aggression by the United States and the Israeli regimes beginning on 28 February 2026. In addition to examining the physical destruction in various provinces, the report also analyzes the cultural and psychological consequences of these actions.
It demonstrates that while the aggressors were able to damage structures and physical spaces in different regions, they were ultimately unable to destroy the “spirit” of these cultural landmarks.
