ATU Persian Language Summer School 2022

With a Tour along the Ancient Silk Road

Persian Language Summer School is held at ATU Center for Teaching Persian to Speakers of Other Languages (CTPSOL).This program is suitable for learners at all levels and helps them become proficient in Persian through immersing themselves in a Persian-speaking environment for a full month. 

1. Participants

All students interested in learning Persian language and culture are highly welcome to register in the program. Also, the program is useful to students of the following majors:

1. Persian Language and Literature
2. Iranian Studies, or Iranology,
3. Regional/Area Studies, or Orientology,
4. History,
5. Other related fields in humanities.
6. Persian language teaching:

Once arrived at CTPSOL, students will take a placement test so that we can determine their Persian level. Then, focusing on strengthening communication skills and getting familiar with Persian culture and language, the classes will be conducted for 3 weeks and 60 hours of training. At the end of the course, Persian proficiency certificates will be given to Persian learner based on their level.

3. Cultural Trips and Activities:

In this summer school, daily excursions and extracurricular activities are performed, which include at least 100 hours of indirect teaching of Persian language and culture. These trainings are done in the form of tourist visits. This section includes the followings:

• Sightseeing to museums, historical sites, famous palaces, etc.
• Getting familiar with Persian art handicrafts, Persian traditional foods, Persian calligraphy, etc.
• Getting familiar with Iranian music
• Getting familiar with ancient Iran and modern Iran
• Meeting the remarkable Iranian professors, poets, and authors.  
• Visiting some of the famous cities of the Silk Road.

5. Important Dates:

• Registration time: April 21- May 6, 2022
• Placement test: June 19 and 20, 2022
• classes: June 22- July 24, 2022

6. Fees

The fee for this Summer School is €700; and Payment is made at the Persian Language Teaching Center of Allameh Tabataba’i University..

the fee includes:

• Participation in classes and using the materials for up to 20 hours per week;
• full board accommodation, including breakfast, lunch and dinner;
• Evening refreshments;
• Sightseeing tours in Tehran and Isfahan;
• Tours to famous cities of the classic Silk Road, including Isfahan which is known as “Half of the World”.

• Students of those universities which already have MoUs with ATU will be entitled to a 20% discount on the fees.
• Students who have previously visited ATU will be entitled a 20% discount on the fees.
